URGENCES

Les secours s'appellent en France avec le 112.

Indiquez l'adresse qui est 214 D rue Albert 1er et si possible sortez dehors sur le chemin à la rencontre des secours pour qu'ils trouvent la maison plus vite.

Jean-Pierre CAVAREC qui habite sur la propriété, à 250m, était pompier professionnel. Il peut être d'un grand secours. Il connaît bien la maison et peut vous aider si vous ne pouvez pas nous joindre. Appelez-le au +33 6 76 90 35 75 (en cas d'urgence seulement).

Le robinet d'arrêt général de l'eau

Il se trouve sous l'évier de la cuisine.

Le compteur électrique

Il se trouve dans le placard qui est sous l'escalier, à droite.

Les vipères

A partir du mois de mai et jusqu'en octobre, il faut éviter d'aller jambes nues dans les hautes herbes et faire un peu attention ailleurs, notamment sur les pentes ensoleillées, car il peut y avoir des vipères dont la morsure est potentiellement mortelle. On ne déplore toutefois aucun accident ici depuis 60 ans, à l'exception d'un chien qui a été sérieusement secoué.

En cas de morsure, appelez le 112 ou allez aux Urgences de l'hôpital de Blois.

La clôture électrique

Pour éviter des dégâts causés par des sangliers qui sont nombreux dans les bois voisins, nous avons dû mettre en place, sur les limites de la propriété, une clôture électrique formée de 2 fils proches du sol. Elle est généralement en service de septembre à juin, car ils émigrent en été.

Si vous avez de jeunes enfants ou des animaux, vous pouvez la débrancher dans la journée (la prise est sur le bord de la terrasse, à gauche en sortant), ou en demandant à nous ou à Jean-Pierre CAVAREC qui pouvons le faire à distance. Pensez à la rebrancher toutes les nuits et en partant !

Les sangliers ne sortent que la nuit et ne présentent aucun danger pour vous.

HISTORIQUE

Le coteau des Grouets était autrefois principalement planté en vigne et produisait un
vin apprécié du roi Henri IV (fin du 16ème siècle). Il y avait aussi plus récemment des
producteurs de fraises et de légumes primeurs.

Au début du XXème siècle le peintre anglais William ABLETT, qui possède encore aujourd'hui une certaine renommée, acquiert une maison de paysans située au lieu-dit « Les Brochards ». Il aménage ou construit la grange, avec une grande verrière exposée au Nord pour y faire son atelier.

En 1926, mon grand-père qui était chirurgien à Blois lui rachète la maison avec un petit terrain. Il racontait avoir visité un jour de grand brouillard, où l'on ne voyait pas la Loire, ce qui lui a permis d'obtenir un rabais.

En 1931, après la naissance du 5ème de ses huit enfants, il a agrandi la maison en faisant construire l'aile au sud, avec deux étages, qui constitue votre gîte.

Ma mère, qui naquit dans une chambre qui est maintenant votre salon, et le plus jeune de mes oncles, ont hérité de la propriété et de la maison, qui ont été divisées en deux. La moitié où vous êtes logés a été la résidence secondaire de ma mère. Nous avons décidé en 2015, Dominique et moi, de faire construire une autre maison, mais l'urbanisme nous a empêché de l'éloigner davantage comme prévu initialement. Après le décès de mère en 2024, nous avons rénové complètement son ancienne maison, pour créer votre gîte "Les Hauts Brochards".

Origine des noms

Le nom « Les Brochards » viendrait de « brocard », nom donné aux jeunes mâles chevreuils. De fait, il y en a beaucoup qui vivent dans les bois alentour et nous en voyons souvent. Vous les entendrez peut-être émettre ce qui ressemble à un aboiement. Les clôtures grillagées sont indispensables pour ne pas qu'ils dévorent les
rosiers et abîment les autres plantes en s'y frottant et il faut bien fermer les portails.

Les Grouets, village situé un peu plus loin en direction de Tours, porte un nom très répandu dans la région qui désigne une terre caillouteuse et ingrate, bien mérité ici.

Le nom de Blois serait d'origine pré-celtique, et signifierait loup. Nous n'avons cependant jamais vu de loup dans la propriété ! Mais on a a vu récemment dans les faubourgs d'Orléans.

LE VOISINAGE

La moitié Est de la « vieille maison », mitoyenne à votre gîte, appartient à des cousins.

Plus loin, vers le Nord-Est il y a 2 maisons rouges et grises. La plus proche de la Loire est celle de Jean-Pierre CAVAREC, notre gardien et jardinier, qui peut vous aider si nous sommes absents (voir « Urgences » au début) et que vous verrez probablement travailler dans la propriété.

L'autre maison est un gîte pour 4 personnes : « Le Rocher des Brochards ».

Vous disposez du terrain sous la maison jusqu'à la clôture en bas, y compris l'allée de buis. Prenez garde à ne pas toucher les fils électrifiés qui passent derrière le grillage. Voyez la page « Urgences » (au début).

LA MAISON

Eau

Le robinet d'arrêt général, en cas d'urgence, se trouve sous l'évier dans la cuisine.

Électricité

Le compteur général se trouve dans le placard qui est sous l'escalier, à droite.

Chauffage

Nous avons une pompe à chaleur air-eau et la maison a été fortement isolée.

Le thermostat mobile doit rester sur le plan de travail de la cuisine, à l'abri du soleil.

Cheminée

En saison, vous trouverez une réserve de bois dans le coffre du salon. Si vous n'en avez pas assez, demandez-nous où vous pouvez en trouver d'autre.

Les cendres froides peuvent être mises dans le seau en métal, puis dispersées dans les massifs du jardin.

Poubelles

Compost organique : utilisez la petite poubelle sous l'évier, et videz la dans le composteur en fin de séjour.
Papiers et emballages (sauf verre) : 2 bacs sous l'évier de la cuisine, à vider dans le container noir et jaune.
Verre : Il y a un bac dans la cuisine, à vider dans les containers en ville. Le plus proche se trouve au niveau du Lycée hôtelier.
Le reste (tout-venant) : utilisez le grand bac sous l'évier. Mettre le sac plein et fermé dans le container gris.

Les containers gris de tout-venant et jaune d'emballages sont vidés par la ville le mardi matin, en alternance. Ils seront emmenés à l'entrée du chemin le lundi soir et ramenés le mardi vers midi.

Machine à laver la vaisselle

Les doses de lessive sont sous l'évier.

Plaques de cuisson

Le mode d'emploi se trouve dans le bac qui se trouve au dessus de la chaudière, dans le grand placard à gauche du plan de travail de la cuisine.

Four et micro-onde

Assez intuitif, vous pouvez cependant consulter le mode d'emploi en cas de besoin.

Barbecue

Démarrez-le avec des vieux journaux et des branches du sapin de Noël (dans le coffre du salon). A la fin de votre séjour, veuillez enlever les cendres et les mettre dans le seau métallique.

Cafetière Nespresso

L'impératif principal est de vérifier qu'il y a de l'eau dans le réservoir avant toute utilisation.

Nous vous fournissons quelques capsules pour votre arrivée. Vous ne trouverez pas de capsules de marque Nespresso à acheter à Blois, mais seulement des capsules compatibles dans les grandes surfaces. Les capsules en aluminium « L'Or » sont conseillées.

Les capsules usagées peuvent être jetées avec les emballages (container noir et jaune).

Machine à laver le linge et fer à repasser

Elle se trouve dans le placard sous la fenêtre de l'entrée, à gauche.

La lessive se trouve sur le plan de travail, dans les pots devant la fenêtre. Vous y trouverez aussi le fer, la table à repasser et une rallonge électrique dans le placard en face de la fenêtre à l'extrême droite.

Sèche-linge

Il se trouve dans le placard sous la fenêtre de l'entrée, à droite.

Accès Internet et Wi-Fi

L'accès à l'internet se fait en 5G grâce à une antenne située dans le grenier, et un routeur qui se trouve dans le placard sous l'escalier. Nous avons un forfait illimité.

Le réseau Wi-Fi est : « LES HAUTS BROCHARDS » et le mot de passe : « 214Albert1er** ».

Il y a aussi des prises RJ45 dans beaucoup de pièces pour vous connecter plus efficacement que par le Wi-Fi, et des câbles dans le placard sous l'escalier.

Nous vous demandons de ne pas tenter de redémarrer le routeur, qui peut être utilisé par d'autres.

Télévision

Elle utilise la connexion à l'internet.

Pour des programmes en Français, choisissez « Molotov TV » où vous avez les chaînes gratuites et la possibilité de les regarder en différé.

Vous avez aussi Netflix et d'autres fournisseurs de contenu. Le câble HDMI peut aussi être connecté à votre ordinateur.

Bicyclettes

Si vous avez des vélos, vous pourrez les ranger à l'abri dans le petit pavillon appelé « maison du tennis », dont la clé est dans le placard sous l'escalier.

Ping-pong

Il se trouve aussi dans la « maison du tennis » dont la clé est dans la petite boite suspendue à droite de la porte d'entrée.

Vous devrez la partager équitablement avec d'éventuels autres occupants de notre maison.

Nous ne fournissons pas les balles (magasin Decathlon à Blois 2 au Nord).

Sortez-le dehors, car actuellement vous pouvez pas jouer à l'intérieur faute de place.

Ne montez pas sur la mezzanine et veillez à ce que les enfants ne le fassent pas.

Tennis

Il n'est malheureusement plus dans un état qui permet de jouer sérieusement, mais des enfants peuvent s'y amuser sans inconvénient.

Veillez à refermer les portes pour éviter que des animaux y soient piégés.

EN QUITTANT LA MAISON

Veuillez vérifier que toutes les portes fenêtres sur la terrasse soient fermées de l'intérieur.

Lors de votre départ définitif :

Merci de plier vos draps et de les mettre sur le sol avec vos serviettes utilisées.

Ne laissez aucun aliment périssable dans le réfrigérateur.

Videz, s'il vous plaît, les poubelles comme indiqué plus haut.

Fermez tous les volets du rez-de-chaussée, toutes les portes fenêtres sur la terrasse de l'intérieur, et bien sûr la porte d'entrée.

Remettez la clé dans la boîte à clé (le code est : 1930).

Envoyez-nous un message pour nous confirmer votre départ et permettre au personnel de ménage d'intervenir rapidement.

Signalez impérativement tout dégât éventuel, et indiquez nous si vous avez manqué de quelque chose.

EMERGENCIES

Emergency services are called with the 112.

Give the address which is 214 rue Albert 1er and when possible go out on the private road to meet the helpers so that they find the house faster.

Jean-Pierre CAVAREC living in the house 300m away was a professional firefighter and can be helpful. You can call him at +33 6 76 90 35 75 (only in case of emergency).

Water general shutoff

It is under and behind the sink in the scullery. Do not confuse with the shutoff for the garden that is next, a little further left ! When in doubt, close both by putting the handles vertically.

Electricity shutoff

It is in the cupboard which is in the scullery, on the left of the window.

Snakes

From May to October, avoid going with naked legs in the high grass, and be careful elsewhere, specially on warm slopes, because there can be vipers which bite can be fatal.

However, no accident was reported for the last 60 years, excepted a dog seriously injured.

In case of a bite, call immediately 112 or drive to the Blois Hospital (Urgences).

Electric fence

To avoid damages made by wild boars, who can be numerous in the woods around, we have had to install an electric fence on the limit of the estate. It is made of 2 wires close to the ground. If you have young children or animals, you can unplug it during the day. It is on the terrace of Les Hauts Brochards. Remember to plug in it back at night and when leaving.

Wild boars are out at night only and harmless for you.

HISTORY

The hill Les Grouets was formerly mainly planted with vines and produced a wine appreciated by King Henry IV (late 16th century). There were also more recent producers of strawberries and vegetables.

At the beginning of the 20th century the english painter William ABLETT, who still has a certain reputation today, acquires a peasant house located at the locality "Les Brochards". He built or rehabilitated the barn, with a large glass exposed to the north to make his workshop.

The young lady in the first floor bedroom is from him. This one too :

In 1926, my grandfather, who was surgeon in Blois bought the house from him with a small piece of land. He said he had visited a day of great fog, where they did not see the Loire, and this allowed him to get a discount.

In 1931, after the birth of the sixth of his eight children, he enlarged the house by building the wing to the south, with 3 floors. He lived there 5 or 6 months in a year, having another large house in the center of Blois.

He gradually acquired land all around to reach more than 5 hectares. Until his death in 1975, there was in Les Brochards a vegetable garden of almost one hectare, behind the tennis court, and more than half a hectare of vineyards, maintained by a full-time employee and his horse.

My mother, who was born here, and the youngest of my uncles inherited the property which was divided in 2.

In 2015, we decided, Dominique and me, to build the new house where we host you. After my mother's death in 2024, we renovated the old house, to make an holiday accommodation, “Les Hauts Brochards”.

Origin of names

The name Les Brochards comes from "brocard", the name given to young male deer. In fact, there are many who live in the surrounding woods and we often see them. You may hear them emit a sound like a bark.

The fences around the garden have proven essential to prevent them to eat the rose buds and destroy everything.

Les Grouets, a village a little further in the direction of Tours, has a very common name in the region which indicates a stony and ungrateful soil, well deserved here.

The name of Blois is said to have pre-celtic origin, meaning wolf. However, by now, no wolf has been reported here ! Some have been seen in the suburbs of Orléans.

NEIGHBOURHOOD

The north-eastern part of the "old house", the woods and meadows on its side, belong to cousins who rarely come.

The other part of the "old house" is a holiday accommodation rented on AirBnB and called “Les Hauts Brochards”.

Jean-Pierre Cavarec, who takes care of the garden and our houses, is living with his wife Dominique in a red-grey house, 300m in the North-East. You will probably see him working on the estate and he can help you when we are not at home.

Another similar house (“Le Rocher des Brochards”) is a holiday accommodation rented on AirBnB.

You can walk through the wooden gates in the fence shown in bleu on the south and west side, provided you close them after usage. Our property extends roughly to the electric fence against boars, down the small valley. Remember you must not touch the wires. See "Emergencies" at the beginning.

The former homestead « Les Oiseaux », to the west, on the other side of the small valley has been abandoned for 60 years. You can walk in and cross the woods if you like adventure and have robust clothes (there are some thorns). On its other side, to the south-west, you will join the pretty valley and path of Crève-coeur (See Activities around our house).

THE HOUSE

Water supply

The general shut-off valve, in case of emergency, is under and behind the sink in the back kitchen. Do not confuse with the shut-off for the garden, a little to the left!

Electricity

The general counter is in the cupboard which is in the scullery, left side to the window.

Heating

We have a heat pump with low temperature underfloor heating on the ground floor. During winter it is usually automatically on. If not, you have instructions on the device to set it in on.

On the front of the device, in the back kitchen, the amount of water in the circuit is shown. If it goes in the red, you must refill, using a valve which is below the level of the sink, accessible by removing a panel on the left of the heating cupboard. It is difficult to find. Ask Jean-Pierre CAVAREC in case you don't find it.

Stove

Before use, open the air inlet by pulling the white disc which is behind the stove. Remember to close it when the stove is not used.

You'll find wood in the shed, on the right after the parking, fire starters on the cabinet beside the stove, and matches in its drawer.

There is a lever under the door : push it right (…) when starting and for maximum draught and left (.) for less, using a tool or a piece of wood to avoid being burned.

Close the door as soon as the fire starts, to avoid the fall of the embers on the floor or on the wood.
Check the temperature with the thermometer on the bottom of the smoke duct. The needle must be more or less vertical. Use the lever to tune.

Warning : this stove is powerful and heats up the house in a short time.

Cold ashes can be spread in the vegetable garden or flower beds in the garden.

Alarm

The house is protected by an alarm.

Deactivate the alarm by entering a 4 digit code on the keyboard which is on the left of the main door when you enter. The code is the 4 last digits of your mobile phone. 1+4 bips should be emitted.

If you don't deactivate within 30s, a shrill ringing will be produced. You can still enter the code for sometime. If you do it, a recorded message (in french) will be heard in the living and you can ignore it.

If you can't deactivate it for any reason, we will be called by phone. We'll call you back immediately. Please, have your phone ready and if possible get out of the house to avoid the noise.

If we can't get it touch, a security team will came quickly, and this will cost 80 €

Give them your name and a password made with the letters « GB » and the 4 last digits of your phone number. For example, when your phone number is 01 02 03 04 05, the password to give will be « GB0405 ».

When you leave, press once the button showing a key.

If you realize you have forgotten it when you are away from the house, please phone us in order we activate the alarm remotely.

Garbage

We have to sort the waste :

Organic compost : second bin under the sink, to be emptied outside on the first heap to the left side of the vegetable garden.
Papers and packagings (excepted glass): 2 bins in the scullery, in the 2nd cupboard on the right side (opposite to the window). To be emptied in the yellow and black container in the garage building.
Glass : 3rd bin in the scullery. To be emptied in city containers. The nearest is in front of the Lycée Hotelier.
General rubbish (everything else) : first bin under the sink. put the bag in the gray wheeled containers, behind the door which is right to the pond, in the old garage building.

The General rubbish and Paper containers are emptied by the city on Thursday morning, alternatively. Usually you will not need to take care of this, but if you stay several weeks, you will have to roll them on Monday evening to the street, at the entrance of the private road, and get them back not before 12 o'clock.

Dishwasher

To start, you will have to press successively the 4 buttons indicated, and then close the door :

Running the dish washer

Drying is not very efficient, even with the SSS + button. It is therefore best to manage to be present at the end of the program, and to open the door as soon as it ends with beep. Otherwise, there will be a lot of wiping.

Doses of laundry dishwater tablets are under the sink.

Of course, you will not machine wash the crystal glasses found in the old cabinets.

Induction hot plate

The user manual is in the beige binder, in middle drawer of the buffet in the living room.

Oven and microwave

Quite intuitive, and English display can be set. The user manual is in the beige binder, in middle drawer of the buffet in the living room.

Barbecue

Start it with old newspaper (down right the sink) and a few fir branches (next to the charcoal in the shed). Add charcoal. A few hours after using, please cover it with the zinc bassine to avoid rain!

Nespresso coffee maker

The main requirement is to check that there is enough water in the tank before use.

To remove the tank, open the lid first (1-3). When filled and replaced turn power on with the button (4). Lift the ring and put a dose, then close gently (5-6-7). Choose a small or large cup (8).

Some coffee doses are in the drawer under the machine.

You will not find Nespresso originals in Blois, but you should find compatible ones in all supermarkets. The aluminium capsules “L'Or” are advised.

The used capsules are put with other packagings.

Washing machine and iron

The washing powder is in the cupboard opposite the machine on the right side.

You will also find the iron, ironing board and extension cord in the other cupboard more on the right.

Tumble drier

If you have any doubt refer to the instructions in the beige folder.

However, the process is now very very long (3h at least). Sun and wind are usually much more efficient here. There are clothes lines in the wood back the house.

Internet access and Wi-fi

The access to the Internet is using 4G, unlimited.

The router is in a cupboard of the scullery.date

The Wi-Fi network is HOTES BROCHARDS and the password is: 214Albert1er

There are RJ45 sockets in each room to connect more efficiently than with Wi-Fi, and cables in a drawer in the bookshelf, second door from the left.

Television

It is an internet TV, using the 4G Internet connection.

For programs in French, we advise you to choose "Molotov TV" where you will get many free channels. You can select other sources, such as Netflix or Amazon Prime.

An HDMI cable can be connected to your own laptop, in order to watch the TV of your country.

Sofa bed

Do not remove the sofa large cushions.

To open (see photos) :
• find the handle between 2 upper pillows.
• pull it firmly, but slowly, horizontally until the bed is ready

The tapestry

The tapestry in the living room is very fragile. We require that you never touch it and never try to clean it even with a vacuum cleaner.

Also, please, let the blinds closing automatically during the morning.

Blinds

You can use the centralized control, which is on a shelf behind the TV, to open or close them all.

Except for the tapestry protection we have normally disabled all automatic openings and closings, since they may not suit to you . Should we had forgotten to disable them, let us know and we will do it remotely.

Garden furniture

There are deck chairs next to the safe in the downstairs bedroom.

The rocking chairs must be turned over when you're not using them, otherwise the wind will blow them onto the pots and plants on the terrace.

The terrace table should be used to block the armchairs and stools, for the same reason.

Bicycles

We have 2 bicycles in correct state. They are in the garage in the old house courtyard. The key is in the « mud room », in the small cupboard, on the right of the main door. It is a long old one in a bunch, upper left.

Bring the small air pomp and the locker with you.

Ping-pong

It is located in the small lodge we call « maison du tennis ». It's key is beside the main door, in the small cupboard, on the right on the main door, with a green label.

You may have to share it with the renter of "Les hauts Brochards".

We do not provide balls... You can find some at Decathlon, in the commercial area on Vendome road.

Get it outside, because you can't play inside currently.

Do not climb on the mezzanine, and prevent children to do so.

Tennis

Unfortunately, it's state don't allow to play tennis, but children can play in it without inconvenience.

Close the doors after leaving, to avoid trapping animals.

EN QUITTANT LA MAISON

Check that all doors and windows are locked and leave the blinds open if there is not too much sun.

Please, close unlocked the inner door, between entrance and living room, to prevent view from outside.

Check you have the alarm badge, lock the main door, exit and activate the alarm as explained previously.

Make sure to close the wooden portal against deers.

At the end of your stay :

Please, pack the bed sheets and towels, and put them in the scullery basket.
Empty the bins, as explained above.
Make sure the garden furniture is secured, as described above.
Please water the plants.

In case we are not present when you leave

Put the alarm badge in a drawer inside the house (where you found it or where we agreed).
Shut and lock all doors and windows as above, but do not lower the blinds.
Hide the key (where you found it or where we agreed) and send us a message. We will remotely reactivate the alarm system and close the blinds at night.

Access to our house

By putting an itinerary to the address 214 D rue Albert 1er à Blois on Google Maps or on Open Street Map, you arrive in front of the house. However, it is not the most interesting route.

After 200m, immediately turn to right following the sign "Martin RODOT / Dominique BEAU".

After a hundred meters you will arrive at a gate. If it's not open, open it (it's not locked). This gate is used to prevent roe deers from destroying the rose bushes and other plants in the garden. If it was closed, you will absolutely have to close it when you don't have to leave again and before nightfall.

Go ahead following the sign "Martin RODOT / Dominique BEAU" and park in front of our house.

If we are not present, the key is concealed in a lamp (see photo). We will set the alarm off before your scheduled arrival time. If you are early, please call on before entering.

FOOD SHOPPING

1. For food shopping, we prefer Intermarché, 3 km towards Blois city center. To access it, turn right in rue Albert 1er. Turn in the 3 rd street on the left, rue Galieni, then in the 2nd on the right, then go ahead for 1,5 km up to traffic lights. There, turn right, keep left, and turn immediately left to enter the parking. Open up to 20h, and on sunday mornings.

2. There is also "Carrefour Market" a little nearer but offering lower quality fresh products. Turn 2nd left in front of Lycée hôtelier, and left again at the traffic lights.

3. A good bakery is 11 avenue Foch, closed on sundays. Another very good one is in front of the Blois railway station, but closed on saturdays and sundays. On Roundabout Médicis there is one which is opened on Sunday morning.

4. The nearest pharmacy and cash dispensers are avenue Foch..

Tuesdays and Thursdays, you have a small market in the city center, place Louis XII, between the castle and the Loire. Underground parking free for 1 hour.

On Saturday morning, it's the big market in Blois, place Louis XII, where more than 100 producers or retailers offer the best local products, many of them organic. Do not miss.

ADVISABLE RESTAURANTS

The best restaurant currently in Blois, according to us, is "ASSA". It was close to Les Brochards but has moved. The chef has worked in Japan and offers a refined cuisine, original, sometimes surprising. They got one-star Michelin less than deserved but the price can be high (easily 100 € / person). On weekdays, you have chance to get a table only if you book. On weekends, you would even have to book several months in advance ... +33.2.54.78.09.01

L'Hostaria del Re is an excellent restaurant managed by italians and not so expensive. You won't find pizza there ! It is located Place du Château (of Blois). There are few tables inside, so when the weather is bad, booking is necessary.

Very close to the Brochards, a 10-minute walk, Rue Albert Premier 174, is the Lycée Hôtelier (site in french only), where there are several restaurants to exercise students who serve regional cuisine with an unbeatable value for money. They are open only at noon or only some days for early dinner, closed on weekends and during school holidays. Reservation is required : +33.2.54.51.51.54 (Tell me if they understand english...)

We like Le Diffa in the « cour des miracles » in old downtown, 46 rue Foulerie, offering quality food, often mediterranean style, in a nice environment and a friendly atmosphere, specially during hot days.

« La Scaletta » is a good pizzeria, not too expensive, with a good service and a very nice Italian decoration. It is located not far from the Castle, at the top of rue Gallois.

This is only a sample of our prefered addresses. There is more than 100 restaurants downtown having at least 3 stars on Trip Advisor.

However, we do not advice l'Embarcadère, although it is one of the nearest, and we boycott Fleur de Loire (Christophe Hay) despite it is the most starred and expensive in Blois, because they have built an ugly building along the Loire.

COMMERCES DE BOUCHE

1. Pour les courses alimentaires, le mieux est l'Intermarché à 3 km. Pour y accéder malgré les sens interdits, prenez la rue Albert 1er sur 1 km, la 2ème rue à gauche (rue Gallieni), puis à droite. Allez jusqu'au feu, à 1,5 km, tournez à droite, serrez immédiatement à gauche et entrez sur le parking en tournant 50m plus loin à gauche et en retour. Ouvert jusqu'à 20h et le dimanche matin.

2. il y a aussi un Carrefour Market un peu plus proche mais qui offre des produits frais de moins bonne qualité. Tournez à gauche au niveau de chaque Lycée.

3. Une bonne boulangerie se trouve 11 avenue Foch. Elle est fermée le dimanche matin. Il y en a aussi une excellente en face de la gare, mais fermée tous les samedis et dimanches. Celle qui est sur le Rond point Médicis est ouverte le dimanche matin.

4. La pharmacie et les distributeurs de billets les plus proches sont avenue Foch.

Les mardis et jeudis vous avez un petit marché en centre-ville, place Louis XII, entre le château et la Loire. Parking souterrain à côté, gratuit 1 heure.

Le samedi matin, c'est le grand marché à Blois, toujours place Louis XII, où plus de 100 producteurs ou revendeurs proposent les meilleurs produits locaux, dont beaucoup de bio. A ne pas manquer.

RESTAURANTS CONSEILLES

Le meilleur restaurant actuellement à Blois, selon nous, c'est « ASSA ». Il était autrefois très proche des Brochards mais s'est éloigné. Le chef a travaillé au Japon et propose une cuisine raffinée, originale, parfois surprenante. Le prix peut être élevé (facilement 100 €/personne). Vous n'y trouverez de la place que difficilement, en semaine et à condition de réserver. Le week-end, il faut réserver plusieurs mois à l'avance :+33.2.54.78.09.01

« La Scaletta » est une bonne pizzeria raisonnable, avec un bon service et une très belle salle, proche du Château, en haut des rues Porte-Chartraine et Gallois. Ouverte tous les jours.

Ceci n'est qu'un échantillon de nos adresses préférées. En ville, il y a une centaine de restaurants ayant au moins 3 étoiles sur Trip Advisor.

Bien qu'il soit proche, nous vous déconseillons vivement l'Embarcadère, et nous boycottons Fleur de Loire (Christophe Hay), bien que le plus étoilé et le plus cher à Blois, parce qu'il a trop enlaidi les bords de Loire.
